How the AI Vendor Evaluation Quiz Works

Score any AI vendor across the same six dimensions used in a professional AI vendor selection engagement. This AI vendor evaluation quiz Dubai procurement teams use is designed to be answered by the person leading vendor selection – typically a procurement manager, IT lead, operations director, or digital transformation owner. Some compliance and security questions may require a quick check with your legal or IT team before answering. Be honest – a 0 is more useful than an optimistic 1. For context on Dubai’s broader AI transformation mandate, see UAE’s official AI strategy.

01

Score one vendor at a time

For each question, score 2 if the vendor has confirmed and documented this capability, 1 if it is partial or unclear from vendor conversations, and 0 if the vendor has not addressed it or cannot confirm. Run the quiz again to score a second vendor for comparison.

02

Watch for red flag questions

Some questions are marked as critical UAE requirements. Scoring 0 on any of these triggers a flag in your results regardless of total score. A vendor may score well overall but still fail on a non-negotiable UAE compliance or contract requirement.

  • 18-31 indicates Significant Gaps – Do Not Proceed until identified issues are resolved by the vendor
  • 0-17 indicates Not Recommended – fundamental misalignment with UAE requirements or your operational needs

AI Vendor Evaluation Quiz: FAQs After Your Score

Discuss your results
What is the AI vendor evaluation quiz?
A 36-question, 20-minute diagnostic quiz that scores any AI vendor across six dimensions: UAE compliance and data sovereignty, security and AI governance, technical and integration fit, Arabic and regional capability, commercial terms and exit rights, and vendor viability and support. You receive a score out of 72, a tier recommendation, any red flags on critical UAE requirements, and specific next steps – all without signing up.
Who should complete this quiz?
The quiz is designed for the person leading AI vendor procurement – typically a procurement manager, IT director, operations lead, or digital transformation owner. Some compliance and security questions may require input from your legal or IT team before answering. Questions are written in business language intentionally – you should not need specialist technical knowledge to score any question in this quiz.
Can I use this to compare multiple vendors?
Yes – the quiz is designed to be run once per vendor. Email your results for each vendor, then compare the scores side by side. Running the same 36 questions against two or three shortlisted vendors produces an objective comparison set that removes preference bias from the final selection decision. Use the Evaluate Another Vendor button after each run.
What do the UAE Critical red flags mean?
Five questions in the quiz are marked as UAE Critical – these cover data residency, UAE PDPL compliance, data training practices, UAE governing law, and data portability on exit. Scoring 0 on any of these triggers a red flag in your results regardless of your total score. A vendor may score 60 out of 72 overall but still be flagged as problematic if they fail on data residency or contract jurisdiction. Red flags require resolution before any contract is signed.
My vendor scored well overall but has a red flag. What should I do?
A high overall score with a UAE Critical red flag is not a reason to proceed – it is a reason to pause and resolve the flagged issue first. Return to the vendor with the specific requirement. Many vendors who present contracts with foreign governing law or without UAE PDPL documentation will accommodate UAE-specific terms when asked directly. If the vendor refuses to address a UAE Critical requirement after being asked explicitly, that is a clear signal about how the relationship will function after contract signature.
How is this quiz different from a professional vendor selection engagement?
This quiz provides a reliable directional score in 20 minutes based on information you already have from vendor conversations. A professional AI vendor selection engagement from The Orange Club conducts independent technical validation on your data, issues a structured RFP with mandatory response format, runs UAE reference calls independently, scores against a weighted scorecard calibrated to your specific pilot findings, and produces a board-ready vendor selection report with contract review checklist. Both are useful at different stages – the quiz tells you which vendors to take seriously and which to eliminate. The professional engagement tells you which one to sign.

Go deeper

After the quiz, the next step is a structured evaluation with independent validation.

The Orange Club runs vendor selection engagements that go beyond what any self-assessment can cover – independent technical validation on your data, structured RFP process, UAE reference calls, and contract review. You receive a scored vendor recommendation your board can approve with confidence.
